Celebrating 1 year in Business!

This month I am celebrating one year in business. It’s been a rollercoaster ride, to say the least, but today I’m celebrating some of the most amazing parts. If you’ve been struggling to get going with your business, remember you are not alone! You …

Last November, I made a decision to do something I’ve always wanted to do but was always too scared to take the leap.

I decided to launch a business.

Wow, what a rollercoaster of a year it has been as I celebrate 1 year in business this month!

I have to laugh at how naive I was when I first launched. I set up my processes and decided I’d like to work with 12-18 clients a year thinking it would be “easy” to book that many clients. But I had no idea how to book clients, no idea how to take payment when I finally did start booking clients, and had to learn to work around a toddlers schedule so I could still be productive and get stuff done.

It’s been a learning process for sure, and one I'm so grateful I got started with!

Am I where I wanted to be at the start of this process?

No.

Have I learned a lot along the way?

Most definitely!

Have I had fun?

Heck yes!

Am I ready to make the next year even better?

You bet ya!

Here are some of the highlights I’m celebrating from my first year of business:

  • Working with the amazing Gemma Gilbert to bring her new website to life (and also having her as my kickass coach. If you’re looking for an awesome business coach, make sure you check her out!)

  • Participating in the Holistic Entrepreneurship Summit with Toni Chowdhury and bringing together the branding and landing pages for it

  • Creating or updating websites for Lisa Falconer, Fatima Lucia and Pippa Turley

  • All the ladies I have met and supported on website review calls. These free calls have been a lot of fun, I've learned a lot by jumping on them and have made some amazing connections from them! If you want to jump on a 30-minute website review call, you can book one here

  • Starting a Facebook group full of amazing women that inspire me, and challenging myself to show up in there and go live each week. On the note of going live, I NEVER thought I would do them, let alone enjoy them!

  • The friendships I’ve made, especially Jessica Shipton from JesSolutionMarketing, Lexi Grey from Special Kind and Marissa Abao. If you're looking at doing Facebook ads, want quirky and unique branding or need a Pinterest manager, check these ladies out!

  • Winning a ticket to a business development day in Sydney where I spent the day with other amazing women in business just soaking up everything I could. Then getting to return for a full weekend at the start of this month to learn even more

  • Recording my first podcast interview that goes live next month with Nancy Carter

  • Writing 35 blog posts for my blog and a guest post for Sam at So Far So Social

  • Going live in my group 46 times, plus doing live trainings in Mom’s Making an Impact, Mummy’s got Clients, The Social Lowdown, The Naked Entrepreneur and the Facebook Group Growth and Sales groups

  • Creating freebies for my followers

  • Learning more about different tech platforms that I use to run my own business and help support clients with theirs (Squarespace, Memberspace, most email marketing platforms, social media scheduling tools and so much more!)

Looking at this list makes me smile. Even though I’m not necessarily where I thought I would be, I have achieved so much more, and I am filled with so much excitement for what the year ahead holds for me and this little business here!

What’s coming next for Jessica Haines Design?

Although I’ve been taking some time to celebrate, I have also been dreaming big for what is to come during my second year of business.

  • I have started a new client project that I am super excited about! I also have one spot left for December if you are wanting to start 2020 with an online presence you can be proud of, and I am taking bookings for next year. If you want some help with my website, you can book a free consultation call here

  • I am working on a few digital products that will be released in coming months. I am super excited about these since they will help you with growing your website, getting visible and standing out as an expert at what you do!

  • I am doing a survey of my tribe to see how I can best help you. If you have 3 minutes or so, I’d really appreciate if you could take a moment to fill this in so I can best help and support you in growing your business

  • I have some massive visibility goals for next year. I’d love to write more guest blog posts, give live trainings in more Facebook groups and be featured on podcasts. If you think your audience could benefit from me sharing tips to grow your business and visibility online, I’d love for you to reach out via my contact form!

I want to say a huge thank you for following along and supporting my business over the last year. It means so much to me to have you along on the journey with me, and I hope I can add more of you to this list during my second year in business too!
