Pure Drop Essentials Website
Pure Drop Essentials is an essential oil business that empowers women to safely and effectively use essential oils for the well-being of their families.
If you want to see how the branding and freebie for this brand came together, you can see it in my previous post.
The template?: I went with the Rally template (from the Brine family) since I knew that I needed something with lots of flexibility so that this website can grow as the Pure Drop Essentials tribe grows.
The objective of the website?: To educate and empower women about essential oils, the health and well-being benefits they have, and how to safely use them. This website will be a go-to source of information for members of the Pure Drop Essentials tribe, along with anyone wanting to learn more about essential oils, so it had to be easy to find the information.
The process: This was such a fun website to bring together! It was a chance to play around with using images as links to more information, and fun text elements. While sketching out ideas, I decided to use images instead of links or buttons, to help make the website more visually appealing, and wanted to add movement with parallax banners. Once I had those ideas in place, it was a case laying out all of the information together on the pages then going through and making small changes with CSS after.
Custom code?: Yes! I added a custom font, created vertical text, change colors of banner sections, added a drop down FAQ section on the contact page and played around with making “buttons” on most of the gallery index pages. I actually tried a handful of new things with code on this website, which was fun!
Favorite creative features?:
1 | The way the parallax scrolling flows across multiple banner images on the index pages. It looks like the colored section is moving down the page behind all of the elements
2 | The script font and having some of the headings vertical for added visual interest
3 | The calming colors and how they work with the theme of the website
